Luxury Funaya Stay “KANSHA” — A One-of-a-Kind, Fully Accessible Retreat Overlooking Ine Bay.
Overlooking the beautiful waters of Ine Bay, Luxury Funaya Stay “KANSHA” is a one-group-per-day, private high-end accommodation offering a truly unique experience.
It is the first in Japan to combine a traditional Funaya (boathouse) with complete super-barrier-free design, making it truly one of a kind in the world.
Designed for everyone—regardless of age, disability, or nationality—this space allows wheelchair users and guests of all abilities to stay comfortably and equally.
Built around the belief that “No one should ever have to give up on the sea,” this extraordinary Funaya was created to make that dream a reality.
The entire building is reserved exclusively for one private group per day, ensuring complete privacy.
From both the first and second floors, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of Ine Bay from different perspectives.
Features include:
private bath and toilet on each floor.
A heated bathroom with a mist sauna on the first floor.
A spacious, multi-purpose accessible toilet on the first floor.
A fully step-free, safe interior design throughout the building.
Open the window on the first floor and the sea of Ine unfolds right before your eyes, creating a seamless connection between indoors and the ocean—an open, immersive oceanfront experience like no other.
In the morning, gentle sunlight reflects off the water.
During the day, the sea sparkles in brilliant blue.
At night, silence and starlight wrap around you.
Here, you can enjoy the ever-changing beauty of Ine Bay in complete privacy and luxury.
Behind the birth of this special place lies a deeply personal story.
The idea was inspired by the childhood memory of a close friend of the owner, who is now living in a wheelchair, of a family seaside trip long ago.
That heartfelt wish—“to once again experience the sea freely”—was passed on, and through it, the miracle of this fully barrier-free Funaya stay was brought to life.
For those who may have once had to give up on seaside travel or scenic ocean views, KANSHA offers a place where no one needs to hold back—a place to truly enjoy crystal-clear waters and peaceful time by the sea.
The sea of Ine, the living culture of Funaya, and a spirit of kindness that leaves no one behind.
At Luxury Funaya Stay “KANSHA”, we invite you to experience a truly new form of extraordinary hospitality.
